Modesto,
CA June 12, 2006 Following the critical success
of the first episode of The Bible Boat, childrens
DVD producers Eric Raingruber and Sean Stencil announced
the commencement of production on episodes two and three.
Each show teaches several Bible verses and key Bible
concepts with the use of original storytelling, puppetry,
colorful sets, music and animation. Each episode focuses
on a different theme such as forgiveness in episode
one, the Good News in number two and why worry in episode
three.
We
wanted to fill a real need by producing top quality
childrens programming, while helping children
memorize Bible verses and understand key Bible concepts,
says Raingruber. High production values and clever writing
have garnered the first show six awards and several
thumbs up from critics.
Virtually
everyone who buys episode one comes back for more shows.
Now parents and children will have two more installments
to enjoy, says Stencil. Episodes two and three
will be available in the spring of 2007. Episode four,
five and six are already in the works for release by
Christmas of 2007.
What
started out as a dream more than ten years ago has become
an award-winning reality today. In 1995 producers Raingruber
and Stencil, along with Director of Photography Hugh
Litfin, began discussing plans for a puppet show concept
that would teach viewers biblical concepts through top-quality
storytelling and high-end production values. We
shot some elaborate tests of sets and puppets, but the
timing for the show never seemed right, says Raingruber
of the shows development.
The
show went through various iterations over the years,
but it wasnt until Raingruber was teaching his
children to memorize Bible verses that the shows
hook really developed. The day my two-year old
daughter and three-year-old son could recite all of
Psalm 23, I realized I needed to be producing shows
that did more than simply reinforce the golden rule.
I needed to inspire a love for Gods word,
remembers Raingruber.
The
Bible Boat is a half-hour DVD series, which takes
a warm-hearted and wacky approach to the best- selling
book of all time, teaching Bible memorization and biblical
principles through the use of entertaining songs, comedy
and creative repetition. Its high production values,
colorful sets, cast of lovable characters and tongue-in-cheek
storytelling make The Bible Boat uniquely enchanting
for both children and adults.

What
Reviewers Have to Say. . .
What
a joy it is to be surprised by good storytelling. The
Bible Boat commands attention the instant you start
playing it. It is very clever. The dialogue is excellent,
and the biblical references are highlighted in unique
ways.
